Allied Control Council

Allied Control Council
(ACC)
The ACC was created on 5 June 1945 to oversee the postwar occupation of Germany. It consisted of representatives from Great Britain, France, the Soviet Union, and the United States. The ACC ceased to exist after the withdrawal of the Soviet representative in March 1948 and was replaced in West Germany by the Allied High Commission.
