Philippine Independence Act, 1934
   Also known as the Tydings-McDuffie Act, the Philippine Independence Act was approved on 24 March 1934 and provided for the Philippine Islands to achieve independence after a 10-year transitional period of constitutional development. The Philippines gained their independence under the act on 4 July 1946.
